Bistrot Bizerca

In Cape Town there are plenty of places to eat, but if you have one night in historic Heritage Square, eat like a local at Bistrot Bizerca. As one of Cape Town’s top restaurants, Bistrot Bizerca is the ultimate choice for lovers of French-style food. This seriously stylish & sublime restaurant gets lots of love in Cape Town.

Owner and Chef Laurent Deslandes has been delighting the taste buds of Capetonians since its start. French fare with an international twist is served in a modern, brick-walled interior. We absolutely love Bistrot Bizerca’s vertical garden, which is a stylish touch. This casual, contemporary yet cozy eatery is perfect for long lazy lunches or a romantic meal. Furthermore it’s also the ideal place to close a business deal over dinner. On a balmy day, make sure to sit in the buzzy and beautiful courtyard, which is the place to be in the summer.

Unfortunately, we found Bistrot Bizerca’s service not spot-on. On the other hand, the waiters were extremely friendly. Overall we really like this place and it’s definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Cape Town.

An extensive chalkboard menu of daily specials like the duo of tuna and braised beef Provencal showcases the skill of Chef Laurent Deslandes. Bistrot Bizerca’s long standing menu includes tried and tested favorites such as the Norwegian salmon salad, steak tartare, pork belly and butternut pumpkin gnocchi. And dessert? Try the famous apple tart tatin. It’s beyond delectable. The wine list is excellent, with a variety of both French and South African wines. But what do you expect in a country known for its fantastic wines?
