We’re always searching for the new and the cool: the restaurants, hotels and other hotspots we can’t stop talking about. London on your holiday hotlist? Perfectly located close to Piccadilly Circus, Ham Yard Hotel in the heart of bustling Soho and moments from chic Mayfair is one of London’s tip-top hotels.

Ham Yard Hotel, Firmdale’s latest UK property, wraps around a modern interpretation of a Soho court, designed as a unique tree filled walk-through. There are 13 little boutique shops, all chosen by Firmdale itself, and its centerpiece is a specially commissioned large scale bronze sculpture by Tony Cragg. Tim and Kit Kemp, owners of Firmdale Hotels, managed to snap up a plot of land in the heart of London. Their idea was to create a distinctly urban village feel. It feels surprisingly calm, thanks to its sheer size and location on a side street.

Firmdale Hotels opened its eighth London property, Ham Yard Hotel, on 1st June 2014. Known for their eccentric British design, Tim and Kit Kemp’s hotel portfolio includes luxury properties such as The Soho Hotel, Haymarket Hotel and Number Sixteen in London and Crosby Street Hotel in New York’s Soho. Ham Yard Hotel is Firmdale’s largest, and most daring, design project to date.

This flamboyant boutique hotel with fab interiors and bold color schemes is a great choice for style junkies as well as luxury hotel lovers. You’ll come for its eye-catching design, hip, hot and happening bar & restaurant, sunken orangery and magical rooftop terrace & garden with sweeping views of the Soho skyline. You’ll stay at Ham Yard Hotel for the spacious individually designed bedrooms, Soholistic Spa and gym plus hypoxic chamber. What really impresses is the uniqueness and extraordinary attention to detail, style and service. Ham Yard Hotel from our favorite London luxury boutique concern is not a place that suffers from sameness. How many luxury design hotels do you know with an ultra-cool 1950’s style bowling alley? Well, we haven’t seen an outstanding hotel feature like this before. To top it off, there’s also a karaoke bar as well as a 190 seat theatre to surprise and entertain hotel guests even more. This handsome London hotel is definitely one of a kind.

We’re big fans of Ham Yard’s straight-out-of-a-design-magazine décor by award-winning Kit Kemp, Design Director for Firmdale Hotels. She’s the queen of the eclectic hotelier. Its “modern English” interpretation of interior design is an exciting mix of bright pops of color, funky fabrics, pretty patterns, innovative art pieces, Kit Kemp’s own range of wallpapers and a quirky sense of humor. Embracing the central London location, this scene stealer with extraordinary design details and a hotel dining room to sign for is really dressed to impress.

Alongside the hotel’s 91 deluxe designer bedrooms & suites there are 24 residential apartments. Offering a homey feel, sense of space and lots of natural light, Ham Yard’s super comfortable hotel rooms & suites are all different and feature stylish touches such as elegant headboards in exciting prints and fabric-covered walls. Some rooms are more sophisticated and less colorful and funky. In the polished bathrooms – ashy granite or white / black marble – you can find Kit Kemp’s exclusive bath product collection entitled Rik Rak. Featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and views of either the Soho jungle or courtyard, the rooms are surprisingly huge by London standards. The peak of luxury is the 145sqm Terrace Suite with its vast living room, terrace with views of the London skyline, two bedrooms, writing desk, kitchen and large bathrooms.

Ham Yard’s breakfast menu includes English classics as well as healthy options, while the Orangery offers high tea in a modern London style. Don’t forget to book a table at the good-looking and vibrant Ham Yard Restaurant where the frequently changing menu revolves around the freshest, seasonal ingredients and the best of British produce. In warm weather, meals are served on the peaceful courtyard. After checking-out The Croc Bowling Alley – the collection of retro bowling shoes is truly amazing – go to Ham Yard’s popular hotel bar for sips and socializing.

When it’s me-time head to the seriously sublime Soholistic Spa for pampering from head-to-toe. Fitness fanatic? The fully equipped gym, including a hypoxic studio for altitude training, is really great, high-tech and different. Fancy a personal training session? There are expert personal trainers to help you step away from a hectic lifestyle and integrate a fun approach to working out.
