Katsuya Hollywood Restaurant
The string of design-led eateries, hip bars and stylish hotels pepper the City of Angels. Hollywood is still hot and happening and home to a SBE-run venue called Katsuya Hollywood. Designed by Philippe Stark, this ever-popular A-list restaurant is situated on the Hollywood Boulevard near The Redbury Hotel, and offers award-winning sushi and Japanese cuisine.
Katsuya’s decor is an intriguing mix of gleaming white leather and chrome furniture, the walls are adorned with giant blown-up photos of glossy lips and fluttering eyes, and the ceiling features images of kimonos and geta (traditional geisha sandals).
Design impresario Philippe Starck in combination with Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi, have created a truly feast for the senses.
Expect a beautiful and youthful crowd, sipping sake cocktails or Katsuya’s signature Burning Mandarin (chill-infused vodka with lemon, orange and cranberry juice) while enjoying food like unique rolls and spectacular sashimi and sushi platters. Reservations at Katsuya Hollywood may be difficult to get, so be sure to call as far in advance as possible.
