Lake Manyara Tree Lodge
Have you ever spotted a lion in a tree? At Lake Manyara you can!
Apart from a spectacular setting, the Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. The shores of the lake, encrusted with pink flamingo, attract more than 400 species of birds. Large herds of buffalo, cheetah, Masai giraffe and impala roam the lake shores and the forested valley slopes.
Located on the southern border of this small yet diverse park, lies a magical haven in the heart of a mahogany forest. After enjoying a scenic 2.5 hour chauffeured game drive through the park, you’ll reach this special place. Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is a combination of tree house luxury, going totally back to nature, and a cool and serene scenery.
The Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, which was designed to exert minimal impact on the environment, boasts only 10 stilted tree house suites. Crafted from local timber and palm fronds, the suites are a sophisticated blend of intimacy and romance, offering privacy and exclusivity in cool, leafy surrounds.
Guests are offered a twice-daily game drives and optional night drives for the real safari junkies, excellent bird watching and breakfast and picnics on the lakeshore. If you want, shop at the safari store, plunge in the lovely pool or choose to do nothing at all! Delicious Pan African dishes are served in the forest boma (outdoor dining area), on dining decks or on private viewing decks.
