It is not easy to impress in Paris. To create a hotel that really stands out and surprises the luxury travelers, is a serious challenge. The owners from the pretty & popular Pavillon de la Reine in Le Marais have proved it’s possible. In January 2011 they opened another boutique beauty in Paris which scores points for its location, style and sophistication.

Close to Champs Elysées, the calm, cozy, chic & charming Pavillon des Lettres occupies a quiet little corner of Paris. Le Pavillon des Lettres, off the Faubourg St Honoré in the 8th arrondissement, is great for the nearby exclusive shopping, while it’s also the perfect stay for a business trip. More cozy than grand, Le Pavillon des Lettres is a subtle alternative to the city’s traditional high end hotels.

Art or literature lover? This luxury boutique hotel in Paris is a literary affair. Le Pavillon des Lettres is based on a novel concept: each of its 26 rooms & suites is named after a letter of the alphabet and is dedicated to a writer – S for Shakespeare, V for Voltaire… As the sister hotel to the much-loved Pavillon de la Reine on Place des Vosges, this literary-themed Paris hotel shares also the same architect and interior designer Didier Benderli. Exuding an air of sophistication and Parisian elegance & charm, Le Pavillon des Lettres’ interior is a mix of velvet, silk and leather plus a palette of chocolate, coffee, cognac, stone gray and deep purple. Quotations from a poem, play or text are an integral part of the design in every room – transcribed above the bed. Aside from the literary quirks, there are rainforest showers in the bathrooms and each room comes with toys for boys such as iPod docks, iPads plus a Pavillon des Lettres hotel app and a flatscreen TV. Do you want a balcony? Book a room on the 5th floor, or the corner room on each level. Looking for a suite with gorgeous city views? The two top-floor suites, offering breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower as well as the Grand Palais, are really great. Need to know: like in most of the hotels in Paris, some of the rooms are petite, although they offer everything you need.

This intimate boutique retreat in Paris has no restaurant, but do you really need this in a city full of French cafes, stylish bistros and cool restaurants? We don’t think so. If you really want to stay in the hotel, order room service which is available throughout the day. Breakfast is served in the sumptuous & sensual Salon, while the honesty bar is ideal for a relax drink any time you want. There is also no gym or spa. If you want this, then check out their sister hotel, Le Pavillon de la Reine in the Marais.
