Number Sixteen Hotel
Looking for an intimate, stylish and quiet boutique hotel in London? Look no further. Close to the tube in South Kensington, London’s major museums and Harrods, the tiny but very appealing Number Sixteen is a great base for city breaks, shopping weekends or a business trip.
This sparkling Victorian townhouse on a stunning South Kensington side street, is part of Kit and Tim Kemp’s Firmdale empire – an ambitious and uniquely British boutique operation.
A fresh modern British style, coupled with its quiet charm, comfort, cosy atmosphere and friendly staff have proved a winning combination. Guests feel as if they have been welcomed into a luxury English home.
Like the other Firmdale hotels in London, Number Sixteen is decorated with tasteful colour combinations, inspired fabrics, textured wallpaper, eclectic furnishings, antiques and artworks from all around the world. The result is a place of splendour elegance without being precious. We love the style from the library where splashes of purple and yellow seduces the eye.
The 41 rooms – yet it feels like there are only a handful -, strike the right balance between comfort and style. As you would expect the rooms are equally eye-catching as the rest of this little luxury inn. Individually designed with Kit Kemp’s signature style, the rooms vary from typical London size (rather small) to surprisingly large. All rooms are luxuriously outfitted with big comfortable beds, DVD players, iPod docking stations, writing desks and beautifully designed bathrooms. The views vary as well, looking over either the white Victorian buildings of Sumner Place or the hotel’s lovely garden.
There’s no restaurant at Number Sixteen, but you can have delicious room service whenever you want or go outside for a gastronomic adventure. You can enjoy your breakfast in the idyllic conservatory, relax in the private garden, treat your taste buds with Number Sixteen tea, while reading in the cosy library or drawing room.
