Back to sunny Spain! We’re big fans of Formentera, Ibiza’s shy Balearic sister. Ibiza is the seductive wild child of the Balearic Islands, while Formentera is radiant in her serene natural essence. Whether you come to Formentera for discovering the wonders of the crystal clear waters, soaking up the relaxed bohemian spirit or just the healthy trinity of sand, sun and serenity, you’ll find what you’re looking for.

In tiny Formentera Paraiso de los Pinos is worth checking out for families and couples alike. Think whitewashed walls and sea-blue shutters. Think stylish self-contained apartments. If there is one place that ensures an ultra-relaxing stay it has to be Paraiso de los Pinos, a luxury apartment complex situated in a countryside area steps from the sandy beach of Platja Migjorn and close to the lovely town of Sant Francesc. Here, you can celebrate the nature and flavour of this jewel of the Med in a tranquil environment.

But what about the rooms? Terracotta-roofed apartments are clustered around a lounger-flanked pool. All rooms are spacious, modern, bright and crisp, with smooth tiled floors and flashes of citrus yellow. A stay here guarantees natural sophistication. Paraiso de los Pinos is a two-floor complex with perfectly equipped apartments including kitchenettes, super comfy beds, living rooms with sofa bed, Nespresso machines and balconies or terraces. Travelling with kids in tow? Book a two-bedroom apartment, ask for interconnecting rooms or try one of the new bungalows or villas next door featuring purely Mediterranean decoration. We fully enjoyed our spacious & gorgeous upper floor apartment plus large balcony and loved the divine Ren bath products. Highly recommended!

Paraiso de los Pinos serves an extensive buffet-style breakfast including fresh fruit, juices, cheeses, cold meats and many options for a sweet tooth. Marlaca restaurant, managed by another company, where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served is good but not good enough. Everything is a bit messy here. Furthermore, the staff in the restaurant, unfortunately, weren’t as helpful and friendly as you might hope, and could certainly do with raising a smile on occasion. For a sip of sangria plus plate of paella or a long luxurious lunch, we advise you to book a table at our favourite boho beach spots Chezz Gerdi, Flipper & Chiller or Beso Beach. Nearby Can Carlos restaurant or culinary star Can Dani are the places to be in the evenings. Hanging out horizontally by the salt water pool? Order poolside snacks, pizzas, burgers or sandwiches and creative cocktails or fresh juices.

Bikes are available for cruising around on the pretty paradise island of Formentera. Fan of tennis? Challenge your lover for a Nadal Federer classic. There’s no spa on-site, but massages in your room or in the garden can be arranged (we tried it, really heavenly!).

Dust off your passport and start packing!
