Searching for an extremely luxurious London hotel? Let’s save you the time! Stay in Rosewood London, the first London outpost of the ultra-exclusive American-based Rosewood Hotels group. Housed in a magnificent 1914 Belle Époque building in Holborn, where the City meets West End, this high-end urban hideaway is ideal for both business and pleasure. Rosewood London is located moments away from Covent Garden and the perfect place to call home after a day of exploring the city.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be impressed by its calm courtyard, the grandeur of its heritage building, the posh Range Rover hotel cars, the doormen wearing elegant British designer customs and the striking rose bronze entrance. This is not just another luxury hotel in London. Rosewood London is a sublime slice of architectural beauty and hard to beat for its exclusivity and pampered perfection. We’re talking personal service, refined & spoiling luxury to the max and all other ingredients to feel like a king. Even the hotel dog, Pearl, is treated as a VIP.

Complete with two restaurants, a delicatessen, terrace, hip bar, superb spa, hair salon and large gym, this massive royal retreat is where history, British elegance and splendor meet. Who stays here? Rosewood London hotel is not only a magnet for high-flying holidaymakers, but also an A-list escape (Kendall Jenner & her entourage stayed here when we were here).

Rosewood hotel in the heart of London quietly opened its doors in October 2013 after a two-year renovation. New York-based designer Tony Chi, known for his attention to design detail and use of rich materials, was responsible for the extreme makeover of its interiors. The style is a mix of English heritage with contemporary sophistication and Asian influences. Without a doubt, this classy, five-star fairytale really sparkles with its mirrors, artworks, marble floors, twinkling candles and stunning fresh flowers throughout the hotel.

Rosewood London’s rooms and discreetly sumptuous suites strike the right balance between comfort and style. Each chic unit features top-notch Italian bedding, a marble bathroom, Nespresso coffee machine, LCD satellite television and a docking station. Unfortunately, we found the standard rooms not as wow-worthy as the rest of the hotel. On the other hand, the suites & signature suites are truly outstanding. Our room was supplied with thoughtful extras including scented candles, flowers, champagne, sweet treats and even rose petals on our heavenly bed. Sometimes, the little things make a big difference. Conveying the feel of a stylish London residence, the gorgeous suites are perfect if you have cash to splash. The 585 sqm Manor House Wing, complete with seven bedrooms, living rooms, its own entry and yes its own postcode, is ridiculously exclusive. The Garden House suite boasts a stunning garden terrace overlooking the London skyline.

For a glamorous meal go to Rosewood London’s Mirror Room restaurant: a striking salon elegantly adorned with mirrors, offering all-day dining and afternoon tea. On the left side of the gate, you can find Holborn Dining Room, a handsome, modern-British restaurant with a charming terrace, as well as Holborn Delicatessen – think salads, yoghurts, sandwiches, English fudge, carrot cakes and banana loaves -, ideal for those on the move. Breakfast is good, but can be better. Scarfes Bar, designed by renowned Martin Brudnizki, deserves a special mention. Our favorite London hotel bar is the place to be for killer cocktails plus live music in a warm, cosy atmosphere.

Spa junkies won’t be disappointed in Rosewood’s Sense wellness temple – there’s a sauna, steam room and relaxation lounge -, while sporty types can find everything they need in the hotel gym.

This is a place that just totally gets it.
