Marrakech on your bucket list? In our favorite African city there are lots of stylish riads in the Medina to choose from. But an absolutely must-stay is the laid-back Ryad Dyor in the heart of the Marrakech Medina.
Located only a few minutes from the first souks, this little slice of heaven featuring 2 shady courtyards, lots of cosy & calm corners, a roof terrace and 7 suites, looks bright and super stylish. Modern design meets Moroccan flair here with original mosaic, ornaments, antique doors, ceramics from Bali and large African photos (we love the Jimmy Nelson artprint from the Himba tribe in Namibia). From the same owners of The Purist Villas in Bali, their designer touch sparkles here too. At night, this Moroccan cosily chic riad in Marrakech looks even more magical with romantic candles everywhere.
One of the highlights of boutique hotel Ryad Dyor is the splash pool to cool off, and up on the roof which is another relax open-air lounge with tropical plants, sun beds, chill out tunes and traditional Moroccan dishes if you like. Here, they also serve breakfast (Moroccan breads, pancakes, cheeses, homemade jams, fresh fruit, yogurt, mint tea and fresh orange juice). Downstairs immerse yourself in the heavenly hammam. We think Ryad Dyor is absolutely an oasis of peace and one of the best boutique riad hotels in the Medina of Marrakech. The amazing Belgian manager organized bikes for us and gave us great shopping tips.
Ryad Dyor’s suites are all individually styled with Moroccan cushions & carpets, Balinese mirrors, copper lanterns and more eye-catching design details. Staying in Terrace Suite 7 is the best choice, while the style from Superior Suite 4 is one of a kind with hand-painted decorations that date back 300 years. Some of Ryad Dyor’s suites offer terraces.
