Searching for a river safari adventure in Africa? Discover it now!

After checking into Botswana, then out of Botswana, then into Namibia… you’ll realize this is Africa (TIA) and all part of your adventurous journey to a totally different world. With lots of new passport stamps in your pocket you’ll reach your final destination, the Zambezi Queen. This exclusive floating hotel on the Chobe River, which is the exact border between Namibia and Botswana, is one of the most luxurious safari river cruises in Africa.

Chobe National Park, in northern Botswana, is truly the land of the giants. This is Dombo’s home; a world where elephants rule. In fact, Chobe National Park is famous for its highest elephant concentration in Africa. With a wealth of wildlife, this safari park offers both game drives and safaris on water.

As the jewel of the Chobe River in Botswana, the Zambezi Queen is the perfect river safari in comfort, style and luxury. Anyone who is a big fan of nature and wildlife will be in seventh heaven here. Experience the magic of the Chobe River from this African safari cruise, listen to the grunts of lazily lounging hippos and be completely submissive to nature here. Nothing beats a safari experience like this.

The Zambezi Queen has a funky modern safari look and constantly changing panoramic views that glide gently by. The light, bright and elegant Suites and Master Suites are comfortable, but like most of the boats not so big. With views of the savanna, the 14 accommodation cabins, of which four are master suites, boast en-suite bathrooms with rain showers. Fancy extra space? Book a Master Suite where you have your own viewing deck. Note that for reasons of power limitations only the master suites are air conditioned. However, the suites not provided with air conditioning do have their own ceiling fans, and deck side shutters ensure that the day’s heat is reflected rather than absorbed. The generator shuts down at 10 PM, but you can use the LED reading lights.

On the top deck you can find Zambezi Queen’s dining room, lounge and bar. Breakfast and lunch is buffet style, while for dinner you can choose between two or three courses. One night you’ll have dinner on land around a blazing fire in the open-air boma. This is something really romantic!

During the day, choose to go fishing, game viewing (either on water or on land) or visit a Namibian traditional village. Our game drive on land in Chobe National Park was amazing! We encountered so many beautiful creatures: giraffes, lions, buffalos, hundreds of elephants and even the cutest leopard cubs. I think it was our lucky day! Staying on the Zambezi Queen is like a 24hrs a day safari that doesn’t end, so you don’t necessarily have to go off the boat to spot wildlife. Just chill out on the pool deck, spot drinking elephants or a creepy crocodile and catch the fiery sunset…life is good!
